Price: Per capita around 30 RMB for a meat-heavy meal. Pork liver costs 20 RMB, braised meat (pig's head meat) costs 30 RMB, brain flower with tofu costs 30 RMB, and rice is 1 RMB per person. Considered very good value for money with generous portions.Wait Time: Extremely long. The restaurant starts getting crowded around 10:30 AM and is full by 11:00 AM. There are often long queues for ordering both cold and stir-fried dishes, described as a 'scramble'.

Dishes

The restaurant specializes in braised and stir-fried offal/meat. Recommended dishes include: 1. Tofu with Brain Flower: Very generous portion, brain flower is very fresh and tender with good texture, and has a strong, authentic numbing spice from red peppercorns. It also includes homemade pickled long beans. 2. Signature Braised Pig's Head Meat: Very fragrant, mild spice, crispy texture, and made from fresh meat. 3. Stir-fried Pork Liver: Not spicy, fresh, mild, and typical Chengdu stir-fry style, good for rice. 4. Braised Fatty Intestines: Five-spice flavor, chewy, fresh, but has a distinct offal taste (which some might not prefer). Dishes are generally mild in spiciness unless specified, but authentic Sichuan numbingness is present in certain dishes like the brain flower.

Service

Staff are mostly family members, contributing to low labor costs. However, during peak hours, the limited staff (one person cooking, one taking orders) leads to slow service, potential order mistakes, and a chaotic environment.

Precautions

  • Avoid visiting on weekends and during peak lunch hours (especially before 11:00 AM). It's highly recommended to visit on weekdays (Monday to Thursday) to avoid extremely long queues and dishes selling out.
  • Be prepared for significant waiting times to order and receive your food.
  • Popular dishes, especially cold and braised items, tend to sell out quickly.
  • The dining environment can be very busy and chaotic due to high customer volume.
  • Confirm your order carefully due to the fast-paced and busy ordering process, as staff may mishear requests.
  • Portions are generous, particularly for the brain flower dish.
